Brighton Science: Feature Concept Designing, Annotated Wireframing, Current & Future State Journy Mapping, & Kano Analysis

Project Overview

As a UX designer, I collaborated with 4 team members to design a multi-experiment results view page at the client's request, Brighton Science. I also designed solutions for additional requests including, tracking the status of tasks conducted in experiments, and a pass/fail indication system for experiments.

Methods

Stakeholder Interview, Journey Mapping, Feature Concept Designs, Technology Scoping Interview, Desierablility Survey, Kano Analysis, and High-Fi Wireframing.

Tools

Slack, Zoom, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, FigJam, Figma, Microsoft Excel, and Keynote.

Viewing visual data and information on a computer screen can be difficult for the eyes when looking at multiple files or tabs.

Defining The Problem

Manufacturing workers, Plant Managers, and Quality Managers who look at Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility experiment data, currently have to look at and track data across multiple spreadsheets. These primary users need a multi-view solution that shows data from multiple experiments in a single place. Additional features that would assist these primary users are, tracking the status of tasks conducted in each experiment, and a system for tracking the pass/fail status of each experiment.

This journey map shows the new path with my recommended features that primary users will take when interacting with new and redesigned features within the GR&R dashboard.

Kano Analysis Spreadsheet

Two of my team members approached the Kano Analysis from a unique perspective and decoded the desirability survey results completed by one of the Brighton Science development teams as a methodically mathematical spreadsheet containing multiple data tables. Next Steps

  • Meet with the Brighton Science Development team stakeholders to further discuss proposed design solutions and the hi-fi wireframe designs for requested features.

  • Iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback.

  • If approved, begin the design hand-off process for the development team, so that they can begin developing working coded features.
